Otoplasty is a type of surgery to change the shape of the ears. You may require otoplasty if you have prominent ears or deformities.
What to Expect
Specialized techniques used in our otoplasty procedure vary depending on the type of correction needed by the patient. An incision is usually made behind the ears or within the ear’s inner creases. Excess cartilage and skin are removed. The cartilage is folded to position it properly and secure it with stitches from the inside leaving no visible scars.
Aftercare
After the surgery, a bandage is applied on the area for 7 days. After that, you must wear an elastic band when sleeping to avoid unwanted movement. Take medications as prescribed by your surgeon and refrain from doing strength exercises which may worsen the bruising and swelling.
